Sound Seances Concert "The Birds" by Zorka Wollny

2 concerts in the Oldenburger Pulverturm on 21.05.17, 7pm and 8pm

The concert series works with a classic of the film history and transmits this into a film experience through new music. The inspiration for the first Seance was Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds.

Zorka Wollny will develop The Birds for the Pulverturm in Oldenburg and will work with a group of 10 volunteer participants. The basis of the composition are voices and simple objects (eg paper or metal). The vocal part is supported by electronic sounds, prepared and performed by the artist and composer Hans Castrup.

The audience of the performances will be limited to 30 people due to the size of the pulverturm, and will be placed in the upper part of the Pulverturm, while the electronic sounds will come through the hole in the center of the tower from below.
