Each year since 2001, the Edith-Russ-Haus for Media Art has supported three artists or artist groups in realizing a new project, through the Scholarship for Media Arts of the Lower Saxony Foundation. During the scholarship period from July to December, the guest artists have the use of a living and working space, receive support from the team at the Edith-Russ-Haus for Media Art, and are given 10,000 € to cover production costs. This kind of production-related scholarship in the field of media art - which often requires large investments - is essential in order to help get innovative artistic projects off the ground.

With its exhibit Produced @, the Edith-Russ-Haus for Media Art is celebrating a milestone for this scholarship program and the cooperation with the Lower Saxony Foundation, and is showing its appreciation for the outstanding projects that have been realized over the past ten years. All 26 completed works, and the scholarship projects for 2011, too, may be viewed in the exhibit's computer archive.

Produced @ focuses on the projects that have not yet been seen, and those that were only briefly on display at the Edith-Russ-Haus for Media Art. It includes the works of Jana Linke and REINIGUNGSGESELLSCHAFT [CLEANING COMPANY] (2009) and Ralf Baecker, HeHe and Anahita Razmi (2010). They reflect the diversity of the scholarship projects overall - from Razmi's transporting of a car from Iran and the accompanying ten-hour film about the socially critical investigation by REINIGUNGSGESELLSCHAFT, with the resulting video installation, to Baecker's natural crystal as an electronic apparatus. From HeHe's simulation of an atomic cloud in a water basin to Linke's enormous machine, which buries itself only to be dug out again by a worker.

All six works on display, plus those that are archived, reveal the fascinating range of projects that the annual fellowship supports. The visitor to the Edith-Russ-Haus can experience up close the emergence of complex, unusual, political and unbelievably contemporary works of art.
