Long Night of the Music: Why Birds Sing

11. May 2024, 19:00 - 23:59
concert

The House of Media Art presents for the Long Night of Music the project WhyBirdsSing

Do birds really “sing”? Are the sounds of nature “musical”? The seminar room of the Haus für Medienkunst will become a field of experimentation for an immersive bird landscape: artificial intelligence and the interpretation of found objects will be used to create kinetic installations and prepared instruments. A commissioned composition by Kazakh composer Jamilia Jazylbekova for the violin duo Sugimura/Werhahn will be heard in the light installation by the artist group Raumzeitpiraten in the seminar room. The performance group from the Blauschimmel Atelier immerses itself in the world of birds from the perspective of movement. In a close dialog between object, human, sound and space, the joy of artistic exploration becomes tangible.

A joint musical-performative contribution by the Musikschule, the House for Media Art and the Blauschimmel Atelier e.V. with the artist group Raumzeitpiraten.
