The workshop is an introduction into gestural instruments and the live sampling software LiSa. STEIM will bring an assortment of sensors and sensor instruments, pre-programmed to control the LiSa software. An introductory lecture qualifies you to work with the LiSa software, explore it`s sound manipulation possibilities and play these electronic instruments by gesture. The concert The Electric Hands on saturday will give you an impression of live sampling and of on-stage instrumental composition. For workshop students the concert on Saturday is free. The participation in the workshop is free of charge but own costs have to be borne for food and lodging. The staff of the Edith-Ruß-House will help to arrange accommodation. |
The workshop runs from Sunday the 6th of May - 10 o`clock until Wednesday the 9th of May 2001 inclusively. The Edith-Ruß-Haus can make 4 Mac audio-workstations available to you, each of them with a gestural controller to control LiSa. For good working conditions the number of workshop students is limited to 12. For workshop registration please send us a short curriculum vitae and/or a discription of realized projekts/concerts. We expect your registration until the 20th of April 2001.
Der Workshop beginnt am Sonntag, den 6. Mai um 10 Uhr, und dauert bis einschließlich Mittwoch, den 9. Mai 2001. Das Edith-Ruß-Haus stellt 4 Mac Audio-Arbeitsplätze zur Verfügung, jeder wird mit einem gestural controller zur Steuerung von LiSa ausgestattet sein. Um gute Arbeitsbedingungen zu ermöglichen, ist die Anzahl der Workshop Teilnehmer auf 12 begrenzt. Für die Anmeldung zum Workshop erwarten wir einen kurzen Lebenslauf und/oder die Beschreibung eines bereits realisierten Projektes/Konzertes. Anmeldeschluß zum Workshop ist der 20. April 2001.

Der Workshop ist eine Einführung in die gestischen Instrumente und die live sampling software LiSa. STEIM wird eine Auswahl von Sensoren und Sensor-Instrumenten mitbringen, die bereits vorprogrammiert sind, um mit LiSa arbeiten zu können. Nach einer Einführung sind die Teilnehmer in der Lage, mit der LiSa software zu arbeiten, ihre Möglichkeiten der Klang-manipulation zu untersuchen und die elektronischen Instrumente einzig durch Körpergesten zu spielen. Das Konzert The Electric Hands am Samstag wird ein spannendes Erlebnis des live sampling und der Instrumental-Komposition direkt auf der Bühne werden. Für die Teilnehmer des Workshops ist der Besuch des Konzertes am Samstag kostenlos. Die Teilnahme an dem Workshop ist kostenlos, für Unterkunft und Verpflegung muß hingegen selbst gesorgt werden. Die Mitarbeiter des Edith-Ruß-Hauses werden Ihnen bei der Suche nach Unterkünften behilflich sein. |
