length: approx. 4 hours in the morning
The Outer Space Noise Making Machine

Workshop for schools, age 8 and above by Canadian artist Darsha Hewitt.

This workshop introduces participants to a basic electronic timing and switching system that can be used to automatically trigger alternating current devices (such as lamps, TVs, Radios, Christmas lights, blenders - anything that uses power from a wall socket). This is a versatile circuit that can be used as a foundation for developing automated audio/visual and electromechanical installations and experimental sound instruments using everyday objects. This is a workshop for anyone curious about electricity - no previous experience with electronics required.

Participants will learn:
- Some basic electronic theory including conductivity and resistance
- How to read a schematic and build an electronic circuit
- How to experiment with sound and noise as a material for artistic expression.

This is a fun and noisy workshop! No prior experience with electronics is required.

Fee/material: 3 € / person
Inscriptions until may, 15th at vermittlung-erh(at)web.de
